Lefeber Turf Farm has been growing premium quality turf for over 20 years. Our sod is grown on Skagit Valley's native, sandy loam soil with certified grass seed, formulated for our climate in the Puget Sound area. Measuring the area that you plan to Turf - "Length" times "Width" equals "Square Footage".
Order your Turf for delivery after the preparation work is completed and you are ready to install.
Installation on the day of the delivery is a crucial factor to the beginning of your lawn.
Remove existing grass and weeds, loosen topsoil to a depth of 4-6 inches with a spade or rototiller.
If topsoil is brought in, use a minimum of 3 inches and incorporate into existing soil.
Level using a rake.
If necessary, add dolomite or agriculture grade limestone at the rate of 50 lbs.
Keep the turf moist for the first few days.
Avoid run-off.
After a few days, and until first mowing, water approximately once a day, preferably early in the morning.
In very hot weather, water twice a day.
After the first mowing, and for the first month, reduce watering to about three times per week.
Grass will respond best to slow, gentle watering where the water has a chance to soak in well.
Water approximately two times per week to the to a depth of 6" - 8" and accumulation of 1/2" of water per application.
On the slopes, place the turf pieces across the slope using popsicle sticks to secure if necessary.
Roll the entire turf area after installation to improve soil/turf contact and remove air pockets.
To prevent indentations or air pockets, avoid repeated walking or kneeling on the turf while it is being installed or just after watering.
Water within 1/2 hour of installation.
Water daily or more often, keeping the turf moist until it is firmly rooted (about 2 weeks).
Then, less frequent and deeper watering should begin.

ProLock simply pulls through itself and twists into a locking position.
It's also treated with UV inhibitors to prevent cracking or breaking down due to sun exposure.
