Equipped with his master plumbing license, Bob Webbert opened a plumbing, heating and underground utility business in 1979.
He came onboard at Gray & Son in 1988, when he and his father-in-law, George Palmer, decided to merge their businesses.
Webbert immediately became executive vice president of the company and was promoted to president in 1993.
Today, he is the chief executive officer of both Maryland Paving and Gray & Son.
For many years, Webbert also sat on the board of directors (including as president in 1994-1995) for the Baltimore Country Highway Contractors Association, as well as on the board of the Maryland Highway Contractors Association.
