Services
Todd Heldt Excavating and Paving has many years of experience performing all types of site construction.
We are a smaller company that specializes in asphalt repair, driveway paving and railroad track asphalt restoration.
Due to our size and low overhead costs, we can provide the customer with a quality product and a very competitive price.
Continuous improvement is one of the essential elements in our quality program.
We maintain a modern fleet of equipment and are always looking for ways to improve our services.
This consists of installing a new layer of asphalt (usually 1.5" to 2" thick) on top of an existing asphalt driveway, parking lot or road.
This might also be referred as retop or recap.
A hot melt and hot applied rubberized material used to seal cracks larger than to help prevent water penetration and damage to base.
A mixture of rock, oil and fines that is heated prior to mixing and installed at an elevated temperature to allow for better compaction and adhesion.
A topical coating of black tar mixed with water and sand that is applied to asphalt to give it a refreshed appearance.
The soil was graded and compacted.
Base material was then imported and the driveway was paved to match the existing concrete and the roadway.
The job consisted of saw cutting and removing the asphalt.
We then removed two sets of railroad tracks that lead to the end of the pier.
After all tracks were removed, the areas were paved and subsequently the entire pier was coated with a type II seal coat.
The cracked and broken asphalt was saw cut, removed and the area was paved with hot mix asphalt.
A good contractor will include itemized quantities in their bid.
The bid should include the total square footage and thickness of the asphalt.
Make sure the bid includes everything discussed.
Although the price is the most important, square footage and asphalt thickness amounts are important to assure your getting all the materials you're paying for.
Compare all these numbers with all the bids!.
Make sure the contractor is insured.
It is very common practice to request a certificate of insurance from the contractor.
