Services
Bigane was originally founded on the Southwest side of Chicago in 1907 by John Bigane and Mr. Broderick.
Broderick and Bigane operated as a partnership in the retail coal delivery service.
In 1913 the partnership dissolved but the business continued as John Bigane and Sons as Bigane's sons, John E and Joseph, became part of the family business.
The two sons built a modern coal yard with concrete silos for storage in the Brighton Park neighborhood and added retail oil to the product mix after their sons, Jack, Bill, and Joe returned from WWII.
There is more than machinery and material involved in Bigane's paving services.
Our project management and operations teams bring 25 years of field experience to every job we do.
That's a wealth of knowledge covering municipal, commercial, and industrial projects.
Bigane also brings innovation to the industry with our "green" asphalt, utilizing recycled material and porous asphalt that draws water through making pavement more durable.
At every step along the way, our full-time quality control staff monitors asphalt operations ensuring projects are done right.
Stretching 2.7 miles through four vibrant Chicago northwest side neighborhoods, the conversion of the elevated Bloomingdale Line into a trail and park provides unprecedented connections to and among these communities.
The Chicago Streets for Cycling Plan 2020 calls for a 645-mile network of biking facilities to be in place by 2020 to provide a bicycle accommodation within half-mile of every Chicagoan.
Bigane Paving is proud to work on the new bicycle paths.
The Department of Transportation is responsible for 988 miles of major streets, commonly known as arterial streets.
